President of Kyrgyzstan arrives in Uzbekistan on a state visit

On July 18, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Japarov and his wife arrived in our country on a state visit.
President Mirziyoyev and his wife welcomed them at Tashkent International Airport.
A solemn ceremony to welcome President Sadyr Japarov was held at the Kuksaroy residence. State flags of both countries were displayed in the square in front of the residence, and a guard of honor lined up to receive the distinguished guest.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly greeted President Japarov and invited him to the podium. A military orchestra played the national anthems of both countries.
The Presidents then continued discussions with the participation of official delegations from both countries in an expanded format.
It was noted that several events had been successfully held in preparation for the summit. These included the Intergovernmental Commission meeting, a business forum, a Rectors' Forum, a Generations Dialogue, and various cultural activities.
After bilateral negotiations, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Japarov participated in the launching ceremony of major cooperation projects.
Specifically, they launched a project to build two solar power plants with a total capacity of 400 megawatts in Fergana and Namangan regions. The electricity generated at these plants is envisaged to be supplied to Kyrgyzstan.
Additionally, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Japarov, accompanied by their spouses, attended a concert marking the start of Kyrgyzstan Culture Days in Uzbekistan.
This concert, featuring artists from both countries, symbolized the centuries-old friendship between the Uzbek and Kyrgyz peoples, who share deep historical roots, one religion, and common values and traditions.
