Average monthly salary in Uzbekistan increased

The average monthly nominal salary in Uzbekistan has increased. The Statistics Agency reports this.
Preliminary calculations show that from January to July of the current year, the average monthly nominal salary in Uzbekistan increased to 5 million 92 thousand UZS. This figure was 4 million 337 thousand UZS during the same period in 2023.
It should be noted that the highest average monthly nominal salary by region during the half-year period average was observed in Tashkent (8.4 million UZS), Navoi region (6.6 million UZS), Tashkent region (4.9 million UZS), Andijan region (4.4 million UZS) regions and Republic of Karakalpakstan (4.2 million UZS).
Over the six months, the highest growth rates of average monthly nominal salary by region were observed in Tashkent city (20.2%), Samarkand (18.2%), Andijan (17.6%), Fergana (16.8%), and Navoi (16.2%) regions.
The average monthly salaries by type of economic activity are as follows:
• Banking, insurance, leasing, credit, and intermediary activities — 14.4 million UZS;
• Information and communication — 12.4 million UZS;
• Transportation and storage — 7.7 million UZS;
• Industry — 6.2 million UZS;
• Trade — 5.9 million UZS;
• Construction — 5.4 million UZS;
• Accommodation and food services — 4.6 million UZS;
• Education — 3.5 million UZS;
• Healthcare and social services — 3.3 million UZS.
For reference, the minimum wage was last adjusted on December 1, 2023, and is set at 1 million 50 thousand UZS.
