Date for Parliamentary elections announced
The election campaign for the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local councils (Kengashes) has commenced, as announced by the Central Election Commission.
During a meeting held today by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, significant decisions were made regarding the elections of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local councils.
According to Article 128 of the Constitution and Articles 14 and 36 of the Electoral Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, elections for deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local councils will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
The election campaign for deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local councils was launched on July 26, 2024, in accordance with the deadlines set by the Constitution and the Electoral Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Central Electoral Commission also approved the calendar plan.
Thus, on October 27, 2024, elections will be held for the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the People's Deputies of the regional and Tashkent city councils, and the People's Deputies of the district and city councils.
