XVII Summer Paralympic Games have ended: How did Uzbekistan perform?

The XVII Summer Paralympic Games, held in Paris from August 28 to September 8, have concluded. This prestigious event, which takes place every four years, saw 4,400 athletes from 182 countries competing for 549 medal sets.
Uzbekistan's Paralympic team achieved the best result in the country's history with their strong and determined performance. Our athletes claimed 13th place at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, winning a total of 26 medals: 10 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze.
Similarly, the Canadian team, with 10 gold, 9 silver, and 10 bronze medals, finished in 12th place. Germany secured 11th place with 10 gold, 14 silver, and 25 bronze medals.
Notably, our Olympic team also achieved a 13th-place ranking in the global standings earlier. Our Paralympians matched this by securing 13th place in the medal standings. At the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, Uzbekistan ranked third among Asian countries, following China and Japan; second among Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, behind Ukraine; and first among Islamic nations.
China topped the medal tally with 94 gold, 76 silver, and 50 bronze medals, totaling 220 medals overall. Great Britain secured second place with 49 gold, 44 silver, and 31 bronze medals, while athletes from the United States rounded out the top three with 36 gold, 42 silver, and 27 bronze medals. The Netherlands delegation, with 27 gold, 17 silver, and 12 bronze medals, claimed 4th place.
Countries ahead of us included Canada, Germany, Japan, Australia, France, Ukraine, Italy, and Brazil. In total, 67 countries won at least one gold medal, and 85 countries earned at least one bronze medal.
The next Summer Paralympic Games will be held in 2028 in Los Angeles, USA.
