Tashkent to host another World Championship
Tashkent will host the 2027 World Fencing Championship. The press service of the National Olympic Committee reported this.
The decision was announced during the recent congress of the International Fencing Federation (FIE), where Uzbekistan was officially confirmed as the host for the 2027 World Championship for adults. The event is scheduled to take place from July 20 to 28, 2027.
Also, an awards ceremony dedicated to the yearʼs achievements was held during the event. At the ceremony, sabre fencer Fernanda Herrera, who finished as the top-ranked athlete in the junior world rankings, was also honored.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian entrepreneur Alisher Usmanov was elected as president of the FIE at the congress.
