President of Italy to visit Uzbekistan

Italian President Sergio Mattarella will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan from 9 to 11 November.

As stated in Italian media - Agenzia Nova, "For official Rome, cooperation with Tashkent is particularly important due to Uzbekistan's strategic position between Europe and the Far East, Russia and China."

For reference, Italian President Oscar Luigi Scalfaro also visited Uzbekistan in 1997.
