Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan agree to resume direct flights
Direct flights between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will be reinstated. Minister of Transport Ilhom Makhkamov announced in an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.
Yesterday, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met in Turkmenistan’s Avaza tourist zone.
Following the talks, several documents were signed. Among them was a protocol on expanding cooperation in civil aviation, signed by Minister Makhkamov and Chairman of Türkmenhowaýollary Dovran Saburov.
“At present, there are no direct flights with Turkmenistan. We signed the document, and in the near future, it will be possible to launch direct flights between the two countries,” said Ilhom Makhkamov.
