Solar panel production launched in Nukus

Our country is placing a strong emphasis on the efficient use of environmentally friendly and renewable energy sources. Solar panels are emerging as a top choice among alternative energy devices due to their overall convenience and efficiency. As a result, the demand for them is steadily increasing.
During his visit to Karakalpakstan on August 19-20 of this year, our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the joint venture Nukus Electroapparat operations and spoke with the employees. He instructed the increase in the number of such enterprises and the production of products that meet high market demand.
This company, which began its initial operations in 2017, manufactures voltage devices for the electrical grid. Solar panel production was launched in June of this year, with an investment of over 10 million USD. Equipment for the new project was imported from South Korea. In a short period, the company produced solar panels with a capacity of 600 kW. Additionally, the company installed solar panels with a capacity of 125 kW at its facility.
“The Presidentʼs visit to Karakalpakstan started from our company, which encouraged our team and inspired us to further increase the companyʼs production potential,” said Marlen Ibraimov, the General Director of the Nukus Electroapparat joint venture. The new project, launched to meet the growing demand for solar panels, has an annual capacity of 273,000 units. Production is fully automated, and by localizing a high-demand product for the domestic market, the joint venture has unlocked $4 million in export potential. The project has also created 70 new jobs.
According to the Cabinet of Ministersʼ resolution dated September 21, 2022, on “Accelerating the Production of Renewable Energy Devices,” it was planned to gradually launch solar panel production at the “Nukus Electroapparat” joint venture in the city of Nukus.
“Our company is among the first to specialize in fully automated solar panel production,“said Alisher Seitov, head of a department at the Nukus Electroapparat joint venture. “This will certainly help prevent electricity shortages in the region and expand the production of renewable alternative energy. Currently, projects for solar panel production are being supported across the country. In particular, the Nukus Electroapparat joint venture will benefit from government exemptions and preferences on customs duties for automated technological equipment.
Solar panels installed in various economic sectors, social facilities, and households not only help prevent energy shortages but also generate additional income. The solar panels produced at the Nukus Electroapparat joint venture are expected to provide convenience to our people due to their low cost and savings on transportation expenses.
