The Kokand Airport, which opened in March of this year, welcomed the President of Uzbekistan's plane today for the first time.
This airport was built in 1977 and initially served short-distance flights. Later, it was only used by the Air Force. As a result of modernization, civilian aviation flights are now being launched again.
The Head of our state inspected the construction works here.
A new terminal designed for 100 passengers has been built at the airport, and the runway has been repaired. Modern aeronautical navigation equipment was installed. As a result, the airport has gained the capability to accommodate A 320-200 and ATR 72-600 aircraft.
The President emphasized that this airport should serve the needs of the people. To achieve this, he instructed to increase the number of flights and make prices and services more convenient for passengers.
It was noted that utilizing domestic tourism opportunities would yield positive results and that establishing international flights is also possible in the future.
